Body language gestures

Body language gestures are a basic characteristic of humans, but most of the time we don’t know what it means.  What we do know is that gestures are natural and unique but they can still be generalized and categorized. This means that each act has its own meaning and you may want to check out what they are for. We can say that once you understand the meaning of things, the more effective the communication becomes.

To make socializing exciting, most people use body gestures to give signals to others may it be consciously or unconsciously.  If you understand how body language works, you may probably use this to aid you in scoring a conversation to a person you are attracted with. Try these basic tips to learn some more about body language.

Foot pointing

The boy points where the mind wants to. Body gestures somehow prove this. Most of us when we are attracted to someone we may intentionally face them or sometimes unconsciously do it.  Whatever the case is, our feet will more likely point to the person you are attracted to.

The lips and the gaze

Tight lipped smile or what we commonly call mischievous smile is commonly used by guys.  On the other hand, women sometimes use the biting lips paired with a gaze to lure men.

Elbow touch

Men who are interested with a woman will attempt to talk to her and they will hold your elbows to get your attention or when you are in conversation. This somehow shows a great chance that guy likes you.

Intimate distance

Proxemics is the measure of space in where social interaction occurs. This can be done in a manner of public, social, personal and intimate.  If a guy attempts to go beyond social and enters the personal distance, this may mean mutual understanding that both parties are interested. Though this may not be a distinct sign, you can clearly assess that a person is willing to enter and talk to you personally and more than just ordinary acquaintances.

Other common gestures of men

Gestures coming from male that signal his masculinity or much known as alpha male gestures may come out when he wants to achieve something that he wants. When a man comes to woman and stands with good posture, chest out and thumbs in belt may mean that this guy is interested in with that woman.

Other woman gestures

For women, when they touch there neck or thigh while she is looking at a man, obviously means that she has an interest in him.  An attempt to expose the neck or when she does some frequent flicks on her hair may prove the gesture further.
